Basic Heal
The entry-tier healing spell any crawler can pick up early. One cast restores roughly a fifth of the target's health — modest, but enough to matter when it is the only heal on hand.
Unarmed Combat
One of the pre-dungeon skills Carl carries into the System — visible at the initial Crawler Menu reading. Acts as the generic baseline to which Pugilism, Iron Punch, Smush, and Foot Soldier add their multipliers.
Pugilism
Bare-knuckle damage skill. Each level multiplies unarmed damage by 25%. Combines with related skills like Iron Punch, Smush, Unarmed Combat, and Foot Soldier to produce Carl's signature hand-to-hand combat style.
Powerful Strike
Each level multiplies Carl's damage when he isn't wielding a weapon. At Level 3 a punch or kick does triple normal damage; Mordecai notes that combined with Unarmed Combat and Pugilism, Carl's fists already outperform either of his low-tier weapons.
Regeneration
Out-of-combat healing skill — restores Carl's melee wounds in seconds rather than days. Higher levels also negate melee- inflicted debuffs (bruises, fractures, sprain-like effects). Granted by the Enchanted Trollskin Shirt of Pummeling rather than learned organically.
Foot Soldier
Kick damage skill — paired with Smush to power Carl's shoeless-fighter style. Unlocks at the same combat beat as Smush (rats kicked into a wall, "exploded like water balloons"). The System describes the effect narratively rather than via a bolded tooltip.
Smush
Bare-foot kill damage. Each level increases the pressure Carl can bring to bear with an unshod foot by 10%. Stacks with Foot Soldier (kick damage) and Pugilism (bare-knuckle damage) to round out his shoeless combat profile.
Dangerous Explosive Handling
Sibling skill to Explosives Handling, specialised in the unsafe end of the spectrum — dungeon-found, unstable, or improvised explosives. Unlocks alongside Goblin Explosives during Carl's first dynamite throw into the Scatterer nest.
Explosives Handling
Threshold-gated skill: at Level 5 the System grants Carl access to the Demolitions Workshop crafting menu (requires a Sapper's Table), expanding examinable detail on every bomb-type device he encounters.
Goblin Explosives
Skill specific to goblin-manufactured ordnance — dynamite, hobgoblin-pus charges, and the goblin chopper's permacube fuel cells. Distinct from generic Explosives Handling because goblin charges have idiosyncratic fuses and shaped-charge patterns.
Bare Knuckles
Punching unprotected breaks Carl's fingers, so finding fist protection that keeps the bare-knuckle bonus becomes an early, standing equipment priority.
Iron Punch
Bare-knuckle skill that adds +10% enhanced fist damage per level. Compatible with war gauntlets and similar protective gear that preserve the bare-knuckle bonus. Stacks with Pugilism, Powerful Strike, and the Enchanted War Gauntlet's +2 Iron Punch skill levels.
IED
Improvised Explosive Devices skill — each level adds 10% to the damage yield of any home-brewed bomb and halves the chance of a premature uh-oh while building one. Pairs with Explosives Handling for safer assembly of dungeon-grade ordnance.
Chopper Pilot
Vehicle-handling skill specific to the human-sized goblin chopper Carl trades from shamanka Rory. Higher levels improve handling, fuel efficiency on the permacube engine, and combat maneuvers like the sidecar shooting platform.
Aiming
Stacks with weapon-specific skills (Slingshot, firearms, thrown ordnance) to tighten Carl's accuracy. Unlocks at Level 1 the moment he starts deliberately ranging shots with the Jug O' Boom + slingshot combination.
Incendiary Device Handling
Sister skill to Explosives Handling, scoped to incendiary devices — moonshine-based firebombs, oil-and-torch traps, the goblin engineers' flame-tubes. Auto-grants to Level 5 the moment Carl invents the Jug O' Boom from Rev-Up moonshine, goblin oil, and a torch.
Slingshot
Ranged-attack skill paired with the slingshot delivery system Carl rigs for the Jug O' Boom. Stacks with Aiming and Steady Hand to produce a usable thrown-explosive arc.
Steady Hand
Companion skill to Aiming — reduces wobble, recoil, and stress tremor on aimed ranged attacks. Unlocks the same chapter Carl starts ranging Jug O' Boom payloads from the slingshot.
Protective Shell
A static, physical-only dome: a sphere fixed at the caster's hand that widens with Intelligence, walling off a mob's body and physical blows for everyone inside. A rare, costly favourite of frontline tanks; reach and duration both scale, but a long cooldown gates each cast.
Bomb Surgeon
Carl's signature Compensated Anarchist skill: fine-grained control over explosives — he can cut apart, recombine, or sense the state of ordnance. Reaches full effect only at a Sapper's table; field use is more limited.
Escape Plan
Carl's Compensated Anarchist navigation skill: on the surface it reveals hidden doors, but its real value is access to the Dungeon Locator overlay — concealed map-legend signs marking saferooms, restrooms, shops, stairwells, and villages at major intersections.
Fear
Single-target / area Fear effect on susceptible mobs. Mordecai prescribes one cast per fight as standing doctrine for Carl's Compensated Anarchist build while his core damage is still scaling up.
Cesta Punta
Carl's Level-3 Earth-hobby skill for cesta punta, the high-speed Basque ball sport played by hurling and catching a hard pelota with a curved wicker scoop. Arrived tooltip-less from an Earth Hobby Potion.
Wisp Armor
Self-only protective spell — 75% magic damage negation + mind-control immunity for 5 min + 1 min per level, 5 min cooldown
Bang Bro
Carl's first equipment-enchant spell: for five minutes (plus a minute per spell level, on a five-minute cooldown) it adds fire and electrical damage to a currently-equipped item, for 5 mana.
Talon Strike
Sharpens the edge of the wielder's bare foot into a quick slashing strike — kick damage scales with the skill's level, and each kick carries a 2% chance to trigger the instakill spell Eviscerate.
Marked for Death
Lets the wielder mark one full-health crawler at a time; when that target dies the wielder gains a permanent stat reward. While a mark is active the wielder cannot heal — every wound and affliction lingers until the mark dies.
Compensated Anarchist
Monk/Rogue hybrid — trap-maker, bomb-maker, hand-to-hand fighter, "social-media dynamo"
Bronze Adventurer Box
A common starter container holding a few healing and mana potions and a pair of common fingerless gloves — baseline survival gear for a fresh crawler.
Bronze Pet Box
The lowest pet-supply container. Holds a Scroll of Heal Critter and a small stack of Pet Biscuits — the starter kit for keeping a companion alive on the early floors.
Bronze Weapon Box
A common weapon container dropping crude starter arms — a Toad Cudgel and an Iron Poker — the kind of low-tier melee gear a crawler scraps for better fast.
Enchanted Nightgaunt Cloak of Stoutness
Grants +4 Constitution, resistance to poison and ice damage, and adds Anti-Piercing resistance to all worn armor. The Anti-Piercing stack is the load-bearing trait — applies across the rest of Carl's equipped armor set.
Goblin Dynamite
Sweaty red stick of explosive. So volatile the wick may not be necessary — loud noises alone can set it off. Stored in inventory until use.
Goblin Pass
Removes automatic goblin hostility — basic goblins no longer attack on sight. Tradeoff: fairy-class mobs (Clurichauns, Laminak Elites) deal 20% more damage to the wearer.
Gold Apparel Box
A clothing container that punched above its tier, dropping both the Trollskin Shirt of Pummeling and the Nightgaunt Cloak of Stoutness — the core of Carl's Book-1 armor set.
Gold Shoe Box
A footwear container that dropped the Enchanted Toe Ring of the Splatter Skunk and the Powerful Strike skill — a strength-and- melee bump straight out of the tutorial.
Legendary Pet Box
A rarity-tier pet container, far larger than its bronze cousin. Holds a huge stack of Pet Biscuits and one Enhanced Pet Biscuit — the item that triggers Donut's transformation into a sapient companion.
Silver Adventurer Box
A bulk-consumables container — a large stack of Crawler Biscuits, a bundle of torches, and antidotes. Logistics over power: the food and light that keep a crawler moving.
Silver Goblin Box
A goblin-themed container. Its drops — a handful of Goblin Dynamite and the Goblin Pass — seed Carl's bomb-maker habit and let him cross goblin territory unattacked.
Enchanted Toe Ring of the Splatter Skunk
+3 Strength; +3 levels to Powerful Strike skill
Enchanted Trollskin Shirt of Pummeling
Grants +7 to the Regeneration skill (≈20% health restored per 2 minutes when active). Negates all melee-based debuffs: Stun, Knockback, Disarm, Out-of-Breath. One of Carl's best-in-slot armor items throughout Book 1.
Gold Crowd Control Box
An achievement container themed around area control, awarded for a neighborhood-boss kill. It rounds out Carl's anti-swarm and defensive kit early on Floor 1.
Gold Asshole's Box
A snide-named achievement container. Brands the Desperado Pass tattoo onto the holder — gating entry to the Desperado Club hubs — along with a few drink tickets and pocket gold.
Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull
Stat bonuses apply in fist mode. Adds 2 Iron Punch levels and 1 Powerful Strike level. 2% stun chance per successful hit. Does not negate the bare-knuckle skill bonus.
Gold Brawler Box
A brawling-themed container. Its headline drop is the Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull, alongside throwing shuriken and heal scrolls — a clear melee power spike.
Platinum Shoe Box
A high-tier footwear container holding a Cheat Code Potion, which permanently lifts a skill past its normal cap — for Carl, a jump in his Pugilism level.
Silver Mechanic's Box
A construction-themed container that drops the Goo-Inator 3000, a freeform shaping tool Carl leans on to build traps and field fortifications.
Carl's Jug O' Boom
Carl-crafted incendiary. When lit and tossed, the jug shatters and produces a small explosion followed by wide-area burning splash damage. Burn duration scales with the thrower's Incendiary Device Handling skill.
Enchanted BigBoi Boxers
Permanent +2 Constitution while worn. Bestows a Level-15 Protective Shell castable once every 30 hours (no mana cost — item-bound spell). Removing the boxers locks the spell out until they're reequipped; the cooldown does not reset on un-equip.
Krakaren Boss Box
The boss container from the Krakaren kill. Its drop, the Enchanted BigBoi Boxers, gives Carl a self-sizing armor piece with a built- in Protective Shell — his late-Book-1 panic button.
Platinum Lucky Bastard Box
A recurring container awarded for improbable survivals. It pays out in casino scratch-tickets and comp chips rather than gear — the System's sarcastic reward for a crawler who should be dead.
Big Top Ticket
Grants safe passage through Grimaldi's Traveling Circus public areas — except the three rings
Silver Earth Box
A box tied to the Earth-race incentive on Floor 3. Its drops lean nostalgic rather than combat-grade — an Earth hobby potion, a houseplant, and a boxed paperback western series — a slice of home for a homesick crawler.
Platinum Quest Box
A high-tier container handed out for completing quests. Drops range from a Scroll of Upgrade to bulk gold, healing scrolls, and a sharpening stone — the recurring top payout for Carl's contracts.
Gold Fan Box
An audience-funded container whose contents are chosen by viewer vote. Carl's fans picked the Xistera — a forearm scoop that becomes his primary ranged weapon.
Xistera
Inventory-summoned items can be pushed directly into the scoop for slinging at ~250 mph
Bronze Assassin's Box
An achievement container for killing a ranking NPC official. Pays out stealth utility — a pair of Quiet Slippers and antidote potions.
Silver Quest Box
A mid-tier reward container for a one-time objective — here, blocking a rival crawler's separate assassination contract.
Carl's Doomsday Scenario
The captured blast becomes a custom explosive with city-leveling potential. It cannot be safely handled outside inventory, turning Carl's rescue improvisation into a persistent threat.
Train Conductor's Souvenir Hat
Acts as a portal key — equipping it lets any crawler pass the Abyss Gate at Station 436 and reach the trainyard
Bronze Boss Box
A boss container split among the party. Carl's share from the Floor-3 boss held a spell tome for Bang Bro — a temporary fire- and-electric weapon enchant.
Enchanted Necklace of the Haute Bourgeoisie
Per-settlement gem grants stat bonuses + skill grants + a 10-day recurring tax stipend if the holder still controls that settlement at collapse
Platinum Tyrant's Box
A high-tier container awarded for seizing political power. It dropped the Enchanted Necklace of the Haute Bourgeoisie — Skyfowl Settlement gem already set — and a large gold purse.
Bronze Crafter's Box
A low-tier crafting container — unenchanted pliers, a tape measure, and a bucket of pink glitter. Tools, not treasure: the System's deadpan reward for a first crafting-bench use.
Gold Looter Box
A container themed around loot itself. Drops a Determine Value skill potion, letting Carl read the rarity tier on every item in his inventory at a glance.
Platinum Fan Box
A top-tier audience-funded container. Run as a hosted Prize Carousel, it let Carl pick the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook — the season-defining forbidden manual.
The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook
Curated chapters of potions, explosives, traps, monster weaknesses, mob/system shortcuts, and free-form per-edition notes
Gold Engineering Box
An achievement container themed around large-scale sabotage, awarded for derailing a train on the Iron Tangle floor.
Bronze Benefactor Box
The first sponsor gift of Carl's crawl, sent by the Valtay Corporation. It carried a one-time permanent neural enhancer — his first modification from a Syndicate-aligned source.
Valtay Neural Enhancer
Permanent interface upgrade — Identify and Analyze Subspace Portals; flags compatible keys in inventory; one-way Visual Analysis where access is granted
Platinum Big Daddy Box
A high-tier achievement container. Dropped the Seize the Day Toothpaste — five applications, each a long boss-damage buff — for killing three bosses with one shared attack.
Seize the Day Toothpaste
Five applications — each applies a 30-hour boss-damage buff (+3× normal bosses, +4× Province/Country/Floor bosses); must be applied in a saferoom
Night Wyrm's Ring of Divine Suffering
A ring that grants +5% to all of the wearer's stats and the Marked-for-Death skill. Frank Q surrenders it to Carl as "revenge by gift" — its real cost is the visible target the skill paints on whoever wears it.
Platinum Slam Master Box
A high-tier container earned by racking up body-mass and momentum kills. It dropped the Enchanted Wrestling Belt of the Great Gorgo — a stat belt with the Avalanche benefit.
Enchanted Auto Buckler of the Peach Pit
Wrist-twist deploy / stow via the bracer's chassis. Shatter is a bog-standard disarming enchantment with a 1.5% per-hit proc — the 5% inventory-transfer outcome on a successful disarm is the ammunition-side bonus that matters across a long fight.
Map of the Stars
City-Boss kill reward — populates the map with named-boss locations and descriptions in a large radius around the wielder
Enchanted Toe Ring of the Leprous Bandit
From the Platinum Spicy Box for surviving Grull's stomp — the AI's running "stepped on by a deity" gag. Carl wears it on his left pinky toe alongside the Splatter Skunk ring.
Legendary Deity's Box
A rarity-tier container for surviving a direct deity attack. It dropped Pawna's Tears — a potion granting +5 to any one skill or spell, even past its cap. Mordecai rated it Carl's best loot yet.
Pawna's Tears
Unlike Cheat Code Potions (+3 random, immediate) or Legendary skill potions (one fixed skill), Carl can bank this for any held skill. Mordecai's plan: take a natural-15-cap skill to 15, then to 20 — a ceiling normally needing Carl's Primal access. Deferred to Floor-6 subclass.
Platinum Spicy Box
A high-tier container the System hands out as a running joke about being stomped by a deity. It dropped the Enchanted Toe Ring of the Leprous Bandit, a near-legendary two-benefit ring.
The Royal Chariot
Built at Mordecai's upgraded tables; a first solid-metal-tire attempt was too heavy. Battery salvaged from Floor-4 interdiction carts. Splits into two inventory-fitting halves, ~4–5 min to rebuild. Hulked-out Katia drives the front; Carl rides a raised swivel seat behind her.
The Gate of the Feral Gods
Carl's worked example: the Feral Goose corpse, a Level 45 neighborhood boss pre-killed by a malfunctioning altitude-deployment device. A feral god is an uncontrolled god-tier summon, not a regulated pantheon deity like Grull or Pawna.
Silver Boss Box
A boss container from Carl's first Floor-5 borough-boss kill, bundled in with the boss's salvage — scrap metal, a battery, and a neighborhood map.
Silver Fan Box
A mid-tier audience container. Dropped an Enchanted Roll of Never- ending Duct Tape — fifty metres that slowly regenerate — a quietly indispensable utility for a trap-and-bomb crawler.
Gold Makeup Sex is the Best Sex Box
One of the System's deliberately crude achievement names. Dropped a Coffee Shop Author Kit — magical paper, a scroll-writing quill, and an inkwell — Carl's tool for recording cookbook discoveries.
Silver Skydiver's Box
An achievement container for surviving a great fall. Drops Half Splat potions that blunt landing damage — the System's grimly cheerful nod to a crawler who hit the ground hard.
Mysterious Pocket Watch
The watches are mirror-twinned: an alarm on one vibrates the other and shows the holder's reflection. Henrik and Kane used the pair for twice-daily collateral checks — Kane flashed a finger code, Henrik confirmed Hump Town's compliance. A bone symbol links them to Ghazi's box.
